Good to be back at the Victory Ground for the first game of 2025. Calvin opened the scoring but Claydon hit back quickly with a long-range looping shot that just dropped under the bar. Sporting dominated the ball and Ewan swept home for a deserved half-time lead.
Calvin extended the lead but Claydon got back into the game with a penalty to make it 3-2. Claydon, from two divisions lower, pressed hard for the equaliser as Sporting squandered lots of chances to make the game safe. Eventually, late on, Calvin beat the tired Claydon defence to grab his hat-trick and put Sporting into the next round.
